6/29/11 is the day a lot of people in this county have been waiting for. The SUPER WALMART GRAND OPENING IN CORNELIA GA. It should grab a lot of traffic off of Hwy 441/365 and in turn bring more business to our county.
I know this has already given the residents of Habersham County the opportunity to get work – which is so important right now. We wish all the new employees the best of luck and thank Walmart for providing more jobs to our residents.
P.S. If any of the new employees need a house – just call me I am here 7 days a week to assist you.

There are always some kind of jobs available in Habersham County Georgia. The mills around the county always have turnover as does the Fieldale Chicken Plant. It is not easy work but it could pay well – especially in the mills if you are a hard worker. There are also Hospitals (one in Habersham, Stephens & Hall County – each are easy to get to), plenty of restaurants (waiters/waitresses/cooks etc…), Walmart, Lowes, Supermarkets and lots of other places you can find work. Maybe even become a Realtor with Home Zone Real Estate.
Speaking from experience Habersham County is a real nice place to live and raise a family. Lots of free outdoor activities with the National Forest all around us as well as the Chattahoochee River, the Soque River, Unicoi Lake (has a Beach), Lake Russell (has a beach) and lots more creeks and little lakes to play, fish and/or swim in.
And if you happen to have a job that requires you to travel to Atlanta you are fortunate to have Hwy 365 / 441 access for a beautiful easy trip to work whether that is in Gainesville or Atlanta. Travel time to I285 Spagetti Junction (the perimeter) is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes traffic free. If you are working in Atlanta I hope your hours allow you to start early because that is the only time you won’t have traffic.
One thing I would suggest you do when searching for a job in Habersham County is to check out the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce. See if there is a business in the area with your specialty.
